PLAY DATE!!

Hi all,

Well, hopefully the weather forecast is looking better after a very wet spring. Please plan to meet for our 1st ever Spina Bifida playdate on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at noon at Millstone Creek Park, 745 North Spring Road, Westerville, Ohio 43082 (see website at www. westerville.org, then go to City Departments, then Parks/Facilities, then Millstone Creek Park for directions and information). This is a handicapped accessible park! Please bring a packed lunch for everyone in your bunch who will attend, so that the adults can relax (hopefully) and get to know one another, while the kiddos play and make new friends (after they eat a few bites, of course).

This is completely informal. If you show up, great, if not, hope you can make the next one. If it rains, then consider the event cancelled, and we will try to do this again, but it will probably be in early July.

I hope the weather holds out and I hope to see you all there on June 4 at noon.

Play dates

Hello all,

If you don't know me, I am Jennifer Przeracki, Matthew's mom. He is almost five years old and is a rambunctious little boy, to say the least. For awhile now, I have wanted to suggest a "play date" for our kids (no age limits, or we can do it for different age groups, depending on the interest). I know that I have learned a lot from other children and adults with spina bifida, and I have gained an infinite amount of wisdom, not to mention much-needed support from those parents who have older kids that have gone through what our son has. I have met people through COSBA that I know will be lifelong friends, and Matthew has as well. However, due to our busy schedules (not to mention the numerous trips to Children's), we don't get together enough for us to really get to know one another. I would like to remedy that.

So, I would love it if we could get together for something like an afternoon at the Columbus Zoo, an afternoon at a handicapped-accessible park, the Westerville Athletic Center pool/indoor playground, or something along those lines. Suggestions are welcome! I know we all live in different areas (I am out in rural Knox County), so I know what it is like to be away from the action, but I think we can meet somewhere centrally located to accommodate as many people as possible. And, I am trying to do this as informally as possible, so we can just show up somewhere, have fun, and maybe add a new friend to the mix. No pressure here whatsoever:)

Please email me back at jprzeracki@hotmail.com if you are interested. I think it is great for our kids to get together and get to know each other and hopefully become friends for life. Once I see who responds, we can go from there and get something set up. If you can't make it for one play date, maybe you can make the next one.

I hope this email finds you and your family in good health and cheer.
